The people who make it possible.

A multidisciplinary, remote, and agile team works to reduce the gender gap in technology and approach job opportunities to the interior.

I am convinced that you can do quality things (not only live; but study, work and grow as a professional) regardless of living in a city or not. This belief drove me to move back to Salto. After many years of living in Montevideo, I was able to settle in Salto and continue growing as an IT professional (yes, I am a woman and an IT professional). ReconverTIte is a program that reinforces my conviction and drives me to continue betting on it; we have shown that we can be successful women in IT, who perform quality work, from within the country.

When I studied computer science, I was the only girl in my class, which made me consider changing my area of study. However, when I started working, I met female leaders in technology and I realized that gender is not a limitation and we have to follow what we are passionate about. For this reason, I see ReconverTIte as an opportunity for more women to work in the industry and to be an inspiration for the next generations of young women.

I was born in Salto and at 18, I had to move to the capital to be able to pursue the career that I loved. I was very clear about what I wanted to study but it was not a simple decision to leave my home and my family. Once I graduated and moved back to Salto, I was invited to be part of the ReconverTIte team. I accepted the invitation without hesitation as I knew it would be a great project. It makes me very happy to dedicate my career to this project that has so much to do with my city, with empowering women, with the labor reconversion to the world of technology and providing better opportunities for more women to work without leaving their hometown.

As a woman born in the interior of Uruguay, I understand that the opportunities to train, as well as to work in different areas, are not comprehensive enough or tolerant of women. That is why today, from my role in the People Care team, where I take care of the team and because of my awareness of gender equality, I am motivated to help in any way I can to nurture this fantastic and necessary project that is ReconverTIte.

Throughout my career, I have always been fortunate to see women in leadership positions who are successful and a source of inspiration. Eventually, I realized that this situation is not very common at the regional level. Being able to contribute to a project that seeks to provide opportunities and tools so that more women can access leadership roles and perform professionally which  also allows me to work in an area that interests me a lot (Artificial intelligence) is tremendously motivating.

I´m a Gestalt Psychologist and a Social Communicator. I have been working for more than 10 years as a strategic planning in local and international advertising agencies, working with a wide variety of international brands both in their traditional advertising planning and in their digital transformation. I´m also professor of digital marketing at UDE and Project Management at Integra - Pablo Gimenez. From my experience I have turned my interest in causes both in education and gender equity, and that is how I have become Co director of the Girls in tech Uruguay collective. It is from this interest that I contribute to the reconverTIte program: women in testing, turning my knowledge as a commercial planner.
